Terms of Service
Welcome to TeamBattles. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TeamBattles platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
IMPORTANT: These Terms contain a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver in Section 20. Please read them carefully. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating your account as described in Section 20.5.
01 Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using TeamBattles, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page, updating the "Last Updated" date, and sending you an email notification for significant changes. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
02 Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirements
To use TeamBattles, you must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by law in your jurisdiction). If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
Jurisdiction-Specific Age Requirements:
- Quebec, Canada: Users under 14 require parental consent
- Germany, Netherlands, Portugal: Users under 16 require parental consent for data processing
- South Korea: Real-name verification is required; minors require parental consent
2.2 Legal Capacity
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws.
2.3 Age Verification
We collect your date of birth during registration to verify eligibility. Users who indicate they are under 13 cannot create accounts.
03 Account Registration and Security
3.1 Account Creation
To access certain features, you must create an account using one of our supported OAuth providers: Discord, Twitch, GitHub, or Battle.net. You must keep at least one login provider connected at all times. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
3.2 Username and Display Name
You may select a username (3-30 characters, letters, numbers, and underscores only) and display name (1-50 characters). You agree not to select a name that:
- Impersonates another person or entity
- Contains offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate content
- Infringes on any trademark or proprietary rights
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
3.3 Profile Information
You may provide optional profile information including bio (up to 500 characters), pronouns (up to 50 characters), birthday, country, timezone, and preferred languages (up to 10). You may upload a profile avatar (up to 1 MB) and banner (up to 2 MB).
3.4 Account Termination by You
You may request deletion by contacting support. You must transfer ownership of any organizations first. Upon deletion, you will lose access to all virtual goods, tokens, and subscription benefits with no refunds except as required by law.
3.5 Account Suspension and Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent or illegal activity, extended inactivity (more than 2 years), or at our discretion with or without cause.
3.6 Appeal Process
If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting support@teambattles.gg within 30 days. Appeals are reviewed by human moderators within 14 days.
04 User Conduct
You agree to use the Service in a manner consistent with all applicable laws. You agree NOT to engage in the following prohibited conduct:
4.1 Cheating and Unfair Play
- Using cheats, exploits, automation software, bots, hacks, or unauthorized third-party software
- Exploiting bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities
- Manipulating match results or engaging in match-fixing
- Boosting or account sharing to inflate rankings
- Submitting false or manipulated scores or screenshots
4.2 Harassment and Abuse
- Harassing, threatening, stalking, or intimidating other users
- Using hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
- Engaging in bullying or toxic behavior
- Doxing or sharing personal information without consent
4.3 Fraud and Misrepresentation
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans
- Impersonating TeamBattles staff, moderators, or other users
- Providing false information in disputes or support tickets
- Engaging in scams or fraudulent activities
4.4 Technical Abuse
- Attempting unauthorized access to accounts
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service
- Circumventing security measures
- Reverse engineering or decompiling the Service
4.5 Enforcement
Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension (24 hours to 30 days), permanent account termination, or hardware ID bans for severe or repeated violations.
05 Organizations and Teams
5.1 Creating Organizations and Teams
- Organization names: 3-50 characters (letters, numbers, spaces)
- Organization tags: 2-6 uppercase characters
- Team tags: 2-5 uppercase characters, unique within organization
5.2 Roles and Responsibilities
Organization Roles:
- Owner: Full control including deletion and ownership transfer
- Admin: Member and team management
- Manager: Limited management and invites
- Member: Basic access
Team Roles:
- Captain: Full control including deletion and score submission
- Co-Captain: Management except deletion
- Member: Participation only
5.3 Member Management
Organization owners and team captains are responsible for the conduct of their members. Repeated violations may result in penalties for the organization or team. Banned users cannot rejoin until the ban is lifted.
06 Matches
6.1 Match Creation and Participation
- Series length: Best of 1, 3, 5, or 7
- Map selection: Competitive or Flex pool
- Scheduled matches: 1 hour to 7 days in advance
- Each match requires at least one active player on roster
6.2 Match Integrity and Fair Play
You agree to:
- Compete fairly and honestly
- Follow all posted match rules and game settings
- Submit accurate scores and evidence
- Respect match schedules and check-in requirements
- Communicate respectfully with opponents
6.3 Score Submission
Captains submit scores after matches. You may upload up to 10 screenshots (2 MB each) as evidence. Both teams must confirm scores. Submitting false scores is grounds for suspension.
6.4 Disputes
File disputes within 24 hours of match completion. We provide initial review within 48 hours and final decision within 7 days. Filing false or frivolous disputes may result in penalties. Available remedies include match reversal, match replay, and player suspension.
6.5 Forfeits and No-Shows
Teams that fail to check in or participate may be issued forfeits. Repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions.
07 Match Chat
7.1 Chat Availability
- Chat rooms created when matches are accepted
- Text messages up to 255 characters
- Images up to 2 MB (max 10 per team per match)
- Rate limited to 5 messages per minute
7.2 Chat Conduct
Communicate respectfully. Harassment, hate speech, spam, and inappropriate content are prohibited. You may report messages that violate these Terms.
7.3 Chat Deletion
Important: All chat messages, images, and reactions are automatically and permanently deleted 48 hours after match completion. This cannot be prevented or reversed.
08 Content and Intellectual Property
8.1 User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting User Content, you grant TeamBattles a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content in connection with operating the Service.
8.2 File Upload Limits
8.3 Prohibited Content
- Illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory content
- Sexually explicit material or pornography
- Content promoting violence, terrorism, or illegal activities
- Content infringing intellectual property rights
- Malware, viruses, or harmful code
8.4 DMCA Policy
TeamBattles complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Our designated agent is available at dmca@teambattles.gg. Users who receive three valid DMCA notices will have their accounts permanently terminated.
09 Payments, Subscriptions, and Virtual Currency
9.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Xsolla Inc. When you make a purchase, you are also agreeing to Xsolla's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. TeamBattles does not receive or store your payment card information.
9.2 Token Purchases
IMPORTANT LICENSE DISCLOSURE: When you "purchase" Tokens, you are acquiring a LIMITED LICENSE to access platform features - NOT ownership of property. Tokens have no monetary value outside TeamBattles and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to other users.

9.3 Subscriptions
AUTOMATIC RENEWAL: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate unless you cancel.
Subscription Tiers:
9.4 Cancellation
Cancel anytime through Account Settings or by contacting support@teambattles.gg. You retain access until the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds.
9.5 Refunds
Token purchases are generally non-refundable. You may request a subscription refund within 14 days of initial subscription if you have not used benefits. EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content.
10 Tournaments and Competitive Events
10.1 Entry Fees and Prizes
Entry fees are administrative fees to cover operational costs. Prize pools are announced before registration with fixed distribution percentages.
10.2 Geographic Restrictions
- Louisiana, Montana: Not eligible for events with entry fees or prizes
- New York: Additional requirements for prizes exceeding $5,000
- Florida: Bonding requirements for prizes exceeding $5,000
10.3 Tax Obligations
If you win prizes valued at $600 or more (cumulative yearly), you may need to provide tax information. TeamBattles will issue IRS Form 1099-MISC for US winners. International winners may be subject to 30% withholding.
11 API Access
11.1 API Keys
You may create up to 5 API keys per account through Developer Settings. Keys are shown only once at creation and cannot be retrieved afterward.
11.2 API Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share API keys with unauthorized parties
- Use API access to scrape data or harass users
- Exceed rate limits
- Use API data for AI training without permission
- Commercialize API data without authorization
11.3 Developer Obligations
If you develop applications using our API, you must maintain a compliant privacy policy, implement appropriate security measures, delete user data within 30 days of revocation, and notify TeamBattles within 24 hours of any data breach.
12 Anti-Cheat and Monitoring
TeamBattles employs monitoring technology to detect cheating, fraud, and abuse. This may include collection of hardware identifiers, behavioral analysis, integration with third-party anti-cheat services, and automated detection systems.
For severe or repeated violations, we may implement hardware ID (HWID) bans that prevent access from specific devices.
13 Support System
You may create support tickets for issues related to your account, organizations, teams, or matches. You are limited to 5 open tickets at a time. Tickets require a subject (5-100 characters) and description (10-5,000 characters).
14 Experience and Achievements
Teams earn experience (XP) through match wins and completing objectives. Achievements are unlocked automatically as you use the platform. You may not attempt to artificially unlock achievements through exploits or manipulation.
15 Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services (Activision, Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Discord, Twitch, etc.). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. TeamBattles is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any game publisher unless explicitly stated.
16 Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TeamBattles does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Virtual goods (including Tokens) are licensed, not sold.
17 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEAMBATTLES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL TEAMBATTLES' TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
18 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TeamBattles, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of third-party rights.
19 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. For EU consumers, this does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections under your country's laws.
20 Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.
20.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting support@teambattles.gg. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 60 days.
20.2 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures. The arbitration will be conducted in English, in the county where you reside or in Los Angeles, California.
20.3 Arbitration Fees
TeamBattles will pay all JAMS filing, administration, and arbitrator fees. You are responsible only for your own attorneys' fees unless the arbitrator awards you attorneys' fees.
20.4 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND TEAMBATTLES AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
20.5 Opt-Out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to arbitration-optout@teambattles.gg within 30 days of creating your account. Your notice must include your name, username, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out.
20.6 Small Claims Court
Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdiction.
21 General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for failures due to causes beyond our reasonable control

By using TeamBattles, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
